STEPHEN FOLEY M.Arch MRIAI
Stephen graduated as an architect from Dublin Institute of Technology and has a Masters in Advanced Architecture from the School of Architecture Madrid (ETSAM). He gained experience working on public, cultural, sports and religious buildings in Dublin, London and Barcelona before going into private practice and partnership with Johan Berglund in 2016. He is currently focused on practice but has taught architecture at the Cork Centre for Architectural Education, the School of Architecture Madrid (ETSAM), the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), AA Visiting School Barcelona and University College London. In 2017 he was awarded the RIAI Future Award which is given to Emerging Irish Architects.
JOHAN BERGLUND B.Arch MSA/SAR
Johan is the director of SFA42 with over 17 years’ of professional experience in Architecture, Landscape and Public Realm projects in Sweden, Ireland, the UK and the Middle East. He graduated as the highest achieving Diploma student of his year at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL in 2005 and has along his professional work also established a strong academic career, previously running the successful BSc Unit 8 and March Unit 16 at the Bartlett School of Architecture. He is a visiting tutor and critic at several schools in the UK and Europe, and previously held a position as Associate Lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
SARA ACEBES M.Arch COAM Senior Architect
Sara graduated as an architect from Higher Technical School of Architecture of Valladolid (Spain) and has a Master in Certification of Sustainable Design and Bioclimatic Architecture from the School of Architecture Barcelona (ETSAB). She has 10 years experience working on public, cultural, commercial and residential buildings in Madrid, Valladolid and Barcelona. With SFA42 she has been instrumental in our masterplanning and adaptive reuse projects such as 12th Lock Lucan and the Rossaveel Fishery Harbour Centre.
MARTA LOPEZ GARCIA M.Arch Architect
Marta graduated as an architect from School of Architecture Madrid (ETSAM) and currently leads the SFA42 technical department. She has 5 years’ experience working with SFA42 on the Irish Institute of Music and Song, a Masterplan for Rossaveel Small Craft Harbour and Visitors Centre, Blackrock Pier Masterplan and Amenity Building, Killybegs.
