Adaptability, the quality of something that can be easily adapted to perform functions other than those for which it was designed. Resilience, the ability of a flexible species, individual or system to cope with and overcome extreme situations, and recover a function or a development.

The enhancement of the town centre's image in relation to its potential in the context of its county will require new ways of sharing community spaces and new management methods. The consolidated city needs spaces that blend the space‐time dimension of use in order to generate places that can be used at different times during the life of the city.

The city now has to respond to these gaps with vitalization and stitching operations, using the potential of the public facilities to upgrade the urban areas now suffering from deterioration and a loss of functional activity.
